Having trained and qualified, in 2019, as a person centred/ integrative Counsellor (Level 4 CBCAP) I came across the wonderful Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach and simply had to retrain in this modality. I have had the privilege of attending training with some of the giants of the IFS world. This includes Osnat Arbel, Alexia Rothman, Anibal Henriques and Cece Sykes. I have also attended group case consultations with Cece Sykes as well as Alexia Rothman's skills and supervision group.

IFS has helped me in my own personal growth in ways I could barely have dreamed of and really did not expect. I have found it quite an extraordinarily effective way of engaging with, understanding better, valuing and healing different parts of myself. Similarly, in my work with clients, I have been astounded at how this model has supported people to befriend different parts of themselves, or at least get to understand and appreciate why these different parts of us do what they do for us; then, with permission from all protective parts, go to the parts that carry the hurt and help them heal. Once this happens and our protective parts can see this, it can be such a relief for them that they no longer have to protect us in the extreme roles that they often felt they had to take on at the time and again, often felt stuck in.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I am bound by their ethical framework.

Prior to retraining as a counsellor, I was a senior social worker in adult social care for many years.
